Jon and Justin have spoken about pietism and its effects on the Christian life in many episodes of Theocast. This is a compilation of the most informative and helpful portions of those episodes, with the aim of being extremely clear on where we stand, what problems we see with pietism, and the subtle yet devastating fruits of the pietism 'gospel' within the local church.

The gospel according to Jesus, I'm the one who saved you.
I lose none.
Now rest in my power to save and spread the light of the kingdom.

And Jesus tells Nicodemus, well, you have to be born again, which means you can't born yourself again.
It's a beautiful illustration from Jesus.
I mean, obviously, it's from you have to receive that life.
That's right.
