This "Look to Christ" is featured in our episode: The Strange Relief of a Grace-Shaped Life (w/ David Zahl)
We live in a world that never stops asking for more. Be more productive. Be more disciplined. Be more spiritual.
And if we’re honest, it’s exhausting.
Even in the church, we can fall into this same pattern: turning the good news of Jesus into another performance review. We know the right words about grace, but in our hearts we still live like the Father’s smile depends on how well we’ve done this week.
So we keep striving. We compare. We measure. We fear. And deep down, we wonder if we’ll ever feel like we’ve done enough.
But here’s the truth: the gospel was never meant to add pressure to your life. It was meant to relieve it.
Grace is not a pat on the back for the nearly perfect. It’s rest for the worn out, the anxious, the ones who keep falling short.
Jesus did not come to give you another burden to carry. He came to carry the burden for you. He obeyed where you’ve failed. He loved where you’ve grown cold. He rested in the Father’s approval so that you could rest in His.
The good news is this: you don’t have to prove yourself anymore. Christ has already proven everything on your behalf.
So when guilt whispers, “You should be doing more,” when fear says, “You’re not enough,” and when pride says, “You can fix this yourself,” look to Christ.
He is your righteousness. He is your peace. And He is enough for every unfinished part of your life. In Him, you can finally breathe. You can stop pretending. You can rest.
Because the gospel really is the big relief. The good news that the pressure is off, and grace is on.
