ACADEMY: Part 5 – Intro To Covenant Theology | The Covenant of Grace in the Old Testament (Part 2)
Part 5: The Covenant of Grace in the New Testament
In our final session, we pick up where we left off on the Covenant of Grace. After seeing how the Covenant of Grace was promised and revealed in the Old Testament, we now see it established and inaugurated in the New. We discuss why the Covenant of Grace is indeed a new covenant, in contrast to the old covenant. We walk through and show how everything in the Old Testament finds its fulfillment in Jesus, and how that reality gives us solid ground for rest and assurance.

Part 4: The Covenant of Grace in the Old Testament

ACADEMY: Part 3 – Intro To Covenant Theology | The Covenant of Works
Part 3: The Covenant of Works
In this session, we explore the Covenant of Works. We begin by explaining the Covenant itself- its parties, obligations, promises, and sanctions. We get into the connection between the Covenant of Works and federal headship, and how we are saved by works- the works of Jesus. Lastly, we discuss how these realities crush our self-righteousness and help to rightly value all that is gifted to us in Christ.
ACADEMY: Part 2 – Intro To Covenant Theology | Introduction & Overview
Part 2: The Covenant of Redemption
In this session, we will focus on the Covenant of Redemption. We see how the Covenant arises from the pages of scripture. We will see what this covenant is, who is involved in it, and what role each plays- and how it sets a framework for us to be able to understand the Covenants of Works and Grace. Lastly, we will look at how understanding the Covenant of Redemption affects us practically by shaping our understanding of God, serving as grounds for our assurance, and shaping how we read our Bible.

We get a little bit more punchy as we talk about the dangers of pietism as it relates to the gathered saints in the local church and the damage that it can cause. We hope this conversation is beneficial to you as it was to us. We look forward to you listening.
The Slow Death Of Pietism (Transcript)
On today’s episode, we are able and blessed to sit around the same table to discuss and meet with our old friend pietism. The other night, we were discussing how pietism dies a very slow and painful death. We also talked about the damage it can cause to our assurance and what we see when we look at ourselves in Christ. In this podcast, we discuss the slow and painful death of pietism and how it can harm us.
